Enoch, Entire Bible, and Gnostic Gospels

Hello everyone, about a week ago I completed a goal I had had since my early 20s. I completed the first book of Enoch. When I was younger I had tried to read it several times but I had been unable to get through the first few chapters. A big part of why this was possible recently was because I found a great narration on Audible. The narration is done by Christopher Glynn. It was very engaging.

I also finished the entire canon part of the Bible in February and I am a few months from reading through it again. This motivated me to download Elaine Pagel’s audible The Gnostic Gospels to receive more context around these writings. I had been interested in this topic for a while. I also have a great resource for anyone who wants to read the gnostic gospels directly for free:

Shadow Work

I’ve been in therapy doing shadow work. I’ve also been working on a lot of my other issues. To be honest I am feeling more content than at any other time of my life. There are still days where I struggle, trying to make peace with the past. But I really feel like when I started therapy on the last day of March, the timing was perfect to integrate some of the pain from the past and really learn how to move forward. I wouldn’t trade my current happiness for anything.

I can’t recommend therapy enough, but if you do it you have to enter it with the right mindset. It wouldn’t have helped me very much if I had still been stuck in my old thought patterns. It helps to do a lot of journaling before your first session so you can really bring into the room the issues that are important to you. Like for example it had always been a goal of mine to do shadow work in therapy but I had never been able to get myself to remember to bring it up.

I also really recommend, if you want to get into shadow work, reading or listening to Man and His Symbols by Carl Jung. It is written by Carl Jung but it is accessible to laymen. I’ve been learning how to integrate my three parts of Self, which keeps my life far smoother and more regulated. Therapy is a great gift, and if you are going through any struggles it would be a great idea to try it.
