My Psychiatrist said for the first time im stable

I’m sharing this to spread awareness about mental health. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia when I was 22 and since then my life has felt like a massive uphill battle. At my psychiatrist appointment on Wednesday, she said she thinks this is the first time ever that I have been fully stable. This is a really big deal for me as i have struggled with paranoia and delusions for a long time. It feels like finally being able to breathe for the first time in a long time. In addition to this i am also an autistic person who experiences sensory overload, and this also makes the ruminations worse.

I hope that by sharing my experience I will empower others to seek treatment and be compassionate towards those with mental health issues. My Filipino wife and I will soon be moving into a new house with my parents so they can help take care of our special needs daughter, Zora, who is 3. She has cerebral palsy because of a stroke she suffered while in the NICU. Our family has banded together to help take care of her. The new house has a nice basement living space for my wife and i and Zora will be in one of the upstairs bedrooms across the hall from her grandparents. I paid for half the closing costs on the new house.

Everyone in our family loves the new house. I hope this message resonates with someone and reminds people that there can be a future for people with conditions like autism and schizophrenia.
